Public Policy

The U.S. Capitol : From my Washington visit in September 2022
I am currently pursuing a graduate minor in Public Policy. My interest in this field is relatively new—sparked by my exploration into communities and the potential for meaningful change at scale.
I am particularly excited to understand the policy process and engage in conversations surrounding policies in computer technology, especially AI and social media.

In Fall 2024, I completed POL 600: Theories and Methods in Public Policy. The final was a research proposal for which I proposed a comparative study on the dominant narratives surrounding AI governance in the U.S., contrasting federal-level approaches with state-level policies in California and Texas. While I’m excited about this topic, my current courseload doesn’t allow me to continue working on it, though I’m considering writing a blog to share insights from my research process.

In Spring 2025, I am enrolled in POL 612: Environmental Policy, where we are also developing a research proposal for the final project. I am exploring how national actions—specifically domestic investments in technological infrastructure and national policies—shape the global accumulation of electronic waste.
